Hello Everyone! We cant believe its show week!!
Its always such an exciting time for our students as they get to perform and show their family and friends all of their hard work! We are so blessed to share the Gospel message with so many and we pray this is a wonderful addition to your holiday season!
A FEW THINGS-
Please do not bring extra things to Tech, Dress Rehearsal. This includes stuffies, blankets, food, toys, etc. Only the things required for your rehearsal/performance are allowed in the dressing rooms (at the studio and the school). Thank you!
It was a huge problem we noticed and needs to be streamlined. It interrupted quick changes and organization of costumes and accessories (hair, makeup, tights, shoes).
VOLUNTEER ASSIGNMENTS-
Please be sure to check the "CS Volunteer Assignments" tab located under the main "Christmas Show" tab to check your assignments for the weekend. All Dress Rehearsal Volunteers can arrive with their dancer and leave when they leave.
We also are in need of more prop helpers and ushers! If your husband or older sibling can work as an usher on Saturday or Sunday please let Ms. Lei know. You will still get to watch the show:)
This doesn't replace working backstage or pre or post job its just out of the goodness of your hearts! :)
A WORD ABOUT MODESTY-
The nude leotard is meant to be treated like your skin so we do not want to see anyone wearing only their nude leotard outside of the dressing room. We do this to be modest and it is important each dancer follows these rules:) So please be sure to have on a leotard and your Christmas Show T Shirt on to cover up your nude leotard.
BACKSTAGE-
-Each dancer will check in before each show and check out after each show. Once you check them in at the table they will walk back-No parents are allowed back stage
-Ages 12 and up will be dismissed on their own. Ages 11 and under will only be released to parents, and parents must come to the check in/out door.
-Please no siblings in dressing rooms.
-No moms are allowed back stage and if you are not a volunteer for that rehearsal or show you can not be in the dressing room.
-Please bring a few things for your dancer to do back stage, please nothing messy. And please only bring a few things per dancer:)
-Only water is allowed back stage.
-Light snacks are allowed but please NO PEANUTS.
LASTLY
-A link to all the tutorials you need is at the bottom of the page.
-Please check costume tab again to see if anything has changed.
-We will not force any dancer on stage. If they do not dance for the dress then they can not do the show.
-Label everything you can.
-No nail polish, earrings or other jewelry.
-Please pack extra of everything. Tights, leotards, bobby pins, safety pins, hair spray, hair ties, and anything else you think your dancer may need.
Please make sure you know how to do the proper hair and make up. Pinks and browns are suggested with red lips.

TECH REHEARSAL NOTES
Great job last night! Below are some notes, please fix it before I see it again.
Before you read those, here are some general things...
1. Faces. I need way more!!! ...you need to use your whole body not just your lips
2. Too many times you have bent knees and are not stretching through your feet....I know you can do it because if you have a really big jump coming up all the sudden your chase prep is the best stretched/pulled up lhasses I've ever seen...then if it's a little step we don't pull up anymore....you need to be stretching through the legs for even the easiest and smallest transitions.
3. Cross 5ths in chasses
4. Every back leg in penche/arabesque/leap is bent
5. A lot of you are doing chaines with relaxed knees....basically in plie
Note- feel what your legs feel like in your chasse when your prepping for a huge jump....then make your legs feel that sa.e feeling for everything else. The dancer looks relaxed.....but is NEVER relaxing:)
6. Pointers be sure you are responsible to warm up your feet...dont let your dance on stage be your warm up...you have waaay more to offer

Ava/Grace spacing at storytelling...ava too far out (what body part is on what number)
DEMONS
Lauren. If fouettes...end with turned out turn (not parallel)
