Communication is done primarily through the BAND app.
You will be sent and invitation link once you have officially joined team.
Events
Here are some of the great things we do annually:
-Community Performances
*Depending on what company you are placed on team members may, at times, be broken in to smaller groups for different events.
Not all groups will perform at the same event. Which group/event is at the discretion of the teacher.
A lot goes into choreography and planning so we appreciate that you respect these decisions.
-Bible Studies
-Competition
-Fundraisers
-Sleepover/Lock In*
-Master Classes/Convention*
-Field trips to professional dance shows*
*Note – those marked by * are available to certain teams only.
Attendance
Every dance team weekly class, rehearsal and scheduled performance is mandatory. Once you have signed up, you are committed to all rehearsals and events that are scheduled for dance team. Any absence requests must be submitted on dance4him under the "request for dismissal" under the dance company page. Please do not email requests for dismissal. You must submit a form or you will not be dismissed. Should you request an absence in please keep in mind it may or may not be granted. If it is granted there may or may not be an impact upon your ability to be included in on future performances.
Please understand that all absences affect the rest of the company. Some absences more than others, but they all require more work and time for the rest of the group. To minimize the effects of any absences it is important to have your request for dismissal submitted as soon as the conflict arises. It is unacceptable to ask the week or day of. Please do not ask to be dismissed unless it is a very worthy cause. The earlier we have to plan for an absences the better chance you have of being dismissed.
If a dancer misses a rehearsal(s) during the week of a show, that dancer may forfeit their opportunity to perform in the show. If a dancer misses a rehearsal within the weeks prior to competition, you may forfeit your ability to compete with your company.
Fundraising & Volunteering
To keep costs low and to allow as many dancers to participate in our various activities and events, we do ask that all families participate in fundraising and volunteering as part of your commitment to Team.
We ask families to participate in the following (signups will be announced as we get closer to each event):
Social Media
In this time of instant communication, social media intensity, and privacy concerns, we want to ensure we are being responsible and good stewards of how our dancers are promoted and shown in various social media outlets.
To that end, we ask the following:

Spiritual Commitment
Summer Workshop New this Summer….
We want to try something new for Encore company this year that will hopefully bring us more success! Our plan is to shorten the weekly company rehearsal, and add 1 or 2 mandatory summer workshops. Every summer we struggle to have everyone at company rehearsal the same weeks because of so many vacations. Because of this we don’t get as much accomplished that we should and begin the fall behind. This workshop or these workshops will be on a Thursday evening. We would like everyone to hand in any summer vacation you already have planned that effects a Thursday in the summer. Please just give us the Thursday it effects and not the whole vacation time frame, as it saves us time having to figure out which Thursday it falls on.
Overall being on Company is…
We work to give you 99.9 percent of the expectation because we understand that this is a big commitment for families and when you commit, we only think it is fair you have the full scope of what that looks like. Please take the time to think and pray through every aspect of this commitment.

We ask families to participate in the following (signups will be announced as we get closer to each event):
- Donating baked goods for Christmas Show, Spring Ballet and Recital bake sales.
- Working/Donating Christmas Show meals.
- Transporting props/equipment to/from shows.
- Working backstage in the dressing room at one recital.
- Working 2 times organizing costumes, props and other dance team items. Once in the summer and once during the year.
Social Media
In this time of instant communication, social media intensity, and privacy concerns, we want to ensure we are being responsible and good stewards of how our dancers are promoted and shown in various social media outlets.
To that end, we ask the following:
- Parents – please do not share personal information regarding MMDCo Staff, students, and/or their families or any proprietary and confidential information without permission.
- Please refrain from posting pictures, including those of other students in costumes for any MMDCo events.
- Feel free to “Like” posts from the MMDCo Facebook page, including pictures.
- Please be considerate in posting to social media so as not to compromise the values and mission of MMDCo.
- Please do not post choreography, including performances, rehearsals, and classes, as the choreography is copyrighted by MMDCo and we wish to protect our artistic license/ownership.
- Please respect all laws, including those governing defamation, discrimination, harassment, copyright, and fair use.
- Please refrain from posting negative comments about other schools, teachers, or events, including competitions, conventions, and performances.
- If you have negative feedback, we welcome you to contact Staff rather than voice your frustration on social media. We are here to talk and will be happy to meet with you.
- This year we will be posting a social media waiver to sign

Weekly Class Requirements for fall
All company members are required to take the following
- Ballet class requirements according to your level
- 1 PBT/stretch class according to your level
- Contemporary/movement/skills class according to your level
- Company rehearsal class
Weekly class requirements for Summer
- 1 Ballet class
- 1 PBT/stretch class
- 1 contemporary class
- 1 company rehearsal class
Extra Competition Dances
- Anyone can sign up for this, but the commitment requires rehearsal hours outside of regular company rehearsal time.
- When you are in an extra dance, your commitment level is the same as company rehearsal, every rehearsal is mandatory. If you are in a real jam, a request must be submitted in Band as soon as you are aware of the situation.
- For each extra dance you are in, it will be an extra weekly 30 minute class you take.
- The costume fees and competition fees are as listed above.
- Your 99.9 percent commitment to however many extra dances you sign up for is due upon accepting your company status, which is the first week of summer classes.
- Your 100 percent commitment will be due when the fall schedule comes out and we can pin-point for you when the weekly rehearsals will be.
- You can sign up for as many or as little dances as are offered, but it doesn’t mean you will be put in all of those dances.
- We will not know how many dances we will do, if any, until we know for sure who is signing up.
- One last thing to be aware of, if we have enough people signed up to do a dance but there are two more people that are signed up, but in a different level, then those two will not have an extra dance. For example, if I have 6 beginner dancers and 1 advanced dancer, then the advanced dancer will not have a dance to join.
- Each extra competition class will be between $32 and $35 per month
Spiritual Commitment
- Glorify God- Our purpose is to be dancers who are committed to following the Lord. Not just when we are dancing on stage, but also in our character and conduct among other company members, other studio dancers and outside of the studio. We take this very seriously, making a commitment to company should include a commitment to living a Christ centered life
- Striving for excellence- MMDCO is all about teaching dancers to be good stewards of the gifts God has given them- not only does this include how we live, but it also includes trying our best and making every effort to grow and become excellent in the talents he has given us as we represent his name
- To be a light in a dark world- As our name reflects- we feel when we are dancing, we are sending a message, either a positive message or a negative message. Our aim is to bring the love of God through our dancing both indirectly and directly.

Overall being on Company is…
- A commitment of your student’s time
- A commitment of your time
- A financial Commitment
- A social/emotional commitment (being team minded for the greater good)
We work to give you 99.9 percent of the expectation because we understand that this is a big commitment for families and when you commit, we only think it is fair you have the full scope of what that looks like. Please take the time to think and pray through every aspect of this commitment.
